Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi commented, “The Centre for Inclusive Learning for Students of Determination at Ajman University is a significant step forward in our efforts to create an inclusive society with no barriers to education. By supporting Ajman University in its mission to empower students of determination, we are advancing our broader objectives of ensuring seamless access to education and promoting academic excellence.”
The centre promotes the integration of students of determination into the academic community by providing an environment in which they can develop the skills and confidence to excel academically, socially, and professionally. Students of determination will benefit from a supportive setting at the facility, with state-of-the-art facilities designed to cater to the diverse needs of students, which also guarantees equal access to opportunities and resources.
Proctored exams will be facilitated to ensure a fair and encouraging testing environment for students who need extended time or specialised equipment. The centre will also implement advanced tools and software for students with various disabilities, such as screen readers, Braille printers, and specialised keyboards, as well as audio and electronic textbook formats to help students with visual disabilities.
Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, stated that the attendance of the Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University, the centre's inauguration confirms the significance of the initiative and its alignment with the UAE vision 2031’s goal of catering to the needs of lifelong learners. This milestone also reaffirms Ajman University's commitment to providing quality education and shaping an inclusive academic community for all students.
“The inauguration today of the Centre for Inclusive Learning for Students of Determination represents a key milestone in our journey towards a more inclusive future for higher education in the region. Under the patronage of the Crown Prince, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that all students, irrespective of their backgrounds, have access to a stimulating and encouraging learning environment. As a private, non-profit university, we will continue to raise academic standards for all students, while also expanding our teaching, research, and community service capabilities”, he added.
Dr. Karim Seghir also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the family of the late Abdul Wahid Al Rostamani for their generous support in funding the Centre for Inclusive Learning for Students of Determination at Ajman University.
He also discussed the university's future plans to advance its inclusive programs, emphasising the expansion of specialised support services and academic programs designed for students of determination.
