Sharjah24: Dr. Ilham Al Amiri, Vice President of the Friends for Diabetes Association (FDA), has announced that the Association will celebrate World Diabetes Day, which takes place every year on November 14, in partnership with the University of Sharjah through the Blue Circle Sports Festival.
Dr. Ilham Al Amiri highlighted that the Blue Circle Sports Festival aims to enhance awareness regarding the prevention and management of diabetes. The event features a range of sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, chess, and a public marathon, taking place at the boys’ sports complex at the University of Sharjah.
Dr. Al Amiri stated to “Sharjah24” that this marks the 16th consecutive year of the festival, which is set to welcome participants from all segments of society. This initiative aligns with the association’s mission to raise awareness about the benefits of regular physical activity and a balanced diet, which, according to most statistics, can lower the risk of diabetes by over 70%. Through this event, the association promotes a healthy lifestyle under the theme "Diabetes and Wellness."
