Sharjah24: The Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) has revealed its plans to host the "Eastern Region Volunteer Work Exhibition" at Khor Fakkan University on the 18th and 19th of November.
This exhibition, taking place for the first time in the Eastern Region, seeks to foster a culture of volunteerism among youth and community members while showcasing the voluntary contributions made by individuals and institutions to benefit the community.
The exhibition seeks to highlight exceptional volunteer initiatives while offering an interactive platform that unites diverse entities engaged in volunteer work—from government and private institutions to local associations and volunteer teams. This allows visitors, particularly students and their parents, to discover available programmes and initiatives and explore opportunities that align with their skills and interests.
The exhibition is part of a series that the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work is organizing throughout different areas of the Emirate of Sharjah, including Sharjah City and the Central Region, with the goal of fostering a culture of volunteerism and strengthening community partnerships, according to Fatima Musa Al Balushi, Executive Director of the Award.
Al Balushi further noted that the exhibition serves as a platform to highlight the contributions of various institutions and underscore the significance of collaborative efforts in supporting volunteer initiatives and fostering social solidarity.
Al Balushi extended an invitation to institutions keen on presenting their volunteer programmes, emphasizing that effective volunteerism necessitates collaborative efforts from all parties involved. She inspired students and community members to embrace the opportunities presented at the exhibition to cultivate a sense of social responsibility and play an active role in enhancing the quality of life.
The sixth session of the Sharjah Volunteer Work Exhibition took place at the University of Sharjah in November 2023, featuring the participation of 22 institutions.
