The delegation will participate in the opening ceremony of the Cairo International Festival for Arab Children with a theatrical performance entitled "Labib" performed by members of Sharjah Youth (Dibba Al Hisn Centre, Khorfakkan Centre and Kalba Centre). The performance revolves around a passionate inventor named "Munir" who seeks to save the world from a deadly viral epidemic with the help of his robot companion "Labib". Munir's lofty goal is to protect his son "Watan", who represents a symbol of the UAE homeland, which adds a deep emotional dimension to the story. In the context of the story, the conflict between reason and technology on the one hand, and emotion and patriotism on the other hand, appears, reflecting the challenges faced by individuals in times of crisis.
The play also carries a profound message about the importance of creative minds remaining in the service of their homelands, and highlights the value of science and teamwork in overcoming crises and confronting the challenges of the future. Presenting "Labib" play at the opening ceremony of the festival comes as part of its employees' keenness to highlight the values of citizenship and shed light on the role of innovation in building a better future.
Hamed Al Hefeiti, one of the participants in the play, said he is pleased to represent his beloved country and his second home, the Rubu' Qarn Foundation, which gave him the opportunity to participate in this promising festival that supports emerging talents and provides care for Arab children. He added that this initiative aims to enhance children's abilities to express themselves creatively, through carefully designed activities and programmes that contribute to refining their talents and skills.
