At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah welcomed the visiting delegation, and discussed the extensive cooperation that Sharjah universities and specialised academies are working on, in higher education and scientific research, with prestigious higher education institutions and universities in different countries and on the United Kingdom in particular, which contributes to the exchange of scientific expertise, developing the levels of the educational community of professors and students, and achieving the goals of the educational plans that the emirate is working on.
The meeting discussed the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in education, which is based on systematic and strategic plans that have contributed to providing an integrated educational environment in the Emirate of Sharjah, and resulted in the establishment of institutions that provide the finest types of specialised education at the level of all university degrees, making them a model of the quality of higher education, its good management and employment, the selection of appropriate specialisations, and the application of the best standards and specifications for the benefit of students and learners.
The meeting also discussed the importance of benefiting from all scientific and academic experiences in the local environment, especially at the level of applied university studies, such as agricultural, medical and health sciences, and directing students to scientific research to gain the required experience.
The meeting reviewed the cooperation between the University of Dhaid and the University of Liverpool in the veterinary medicine programme, which is classified as one of the best programmes in the United Kingdom based on the latest international classifications, as the programme will be among what the University of Dhaid will offer in its academic programmes.
The delegation from the University of Liverpool expressed thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for providing the opportunity and opening up areas of cooperation with the universities of the Emirate of Sharjah, which brings mutual benefits in many academic fields.
At the end of the meeting, His Highness presented the University of Dhaid shield to the delegation, and received a souvenir from the University of Liverpool.

Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Public Works Department; Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA); Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah; Dr. Aisha Bushlaibi, Chancellor of the University of Dhaid; Professor Paul Lawon, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Liverpool; and a number of academic officials from the two universities.
