Sharjah 24 – AFP: Jonathan David was on target again as Lille secured a 1-1 draw against Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Canadian forward's first-half goal, his fourth of the campaign, gave Lille the lead after 27 minutes.
Lille, fresh off notable wins against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, were aiming for another upset. However, Juventus equalised in the second half through a Dusan Vlahovic penalty, awarded after a foul by Benjamin Andre in the box.

Juventus, who were looking to recover from a 1-0 loss to VfB Stuttgart, now sit level with Lille on seven points at the halfway stage of the group. Both teams are in a strong position, with Juve needing one more win to ensure progression to the knockout round.

The match saw Lille take the lead through a well-crafted move, as Edon Zhegrova set up David for a clinical finish. Juventus had two goals ruled out for offside, while Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier made a crucial save to deny Vlahovic early on.

The penalty was the only goal in the second half, and the game ended in a draw. Lille now face Bologna and Sturm Graz in their remaining fixtures of the group stage, hoping to secure more points, while Juventus has tough matches ahead against Aston Villa and Manchester City.
