Sharjah 24 – AFP: Real Madrid have completed the signing of Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan in a deal reportedly valued at $23 million.

The Spanish club announced via an official statement that terms had been finalized for the transfer, locking the player to the Santiago Bernabéu for the next four campaigns, through June 30, 2030.

The 30-year-old attacking right-back recently featured for the Netherlands at the World Cup, where the Dutch squad exited in the round of 16 following a penalty shootout loss to Morocco.

Dumfries arrives to bolster the right-back position, adding depth and competition alongside England international Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The defender originally moved to Inter Milan from PSV Eindhoven in 2021, capturing two Serie A championships and twice securing runner-up medals in the UEFA Champions League over the course of his stint in Italy.

With this acquisition, the Dutch international marks Real Madrid’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window, arriving as the club pushes forward with a squad restructuring following two successive seasons without securing a major piece of silverware.

The Merengues are widely reported to be in the midst of a significant transformation, encompassing adjustments to the managerial staff and contract extensions for crucial figures like Antonio Rüdiger, alongside the departure of several veteran players reshaping the roster for the upcoming season.
