Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem, Executive Director of the SCI, emphasised that this campaign aims to benefit disabled individuals, with the beneficiaries selected in collaboration with the Al Thiqah Club. He noted that the SCI's Board of Directors had expedited the review of applications to ensure the most deserving candidates were chosen.
All travel arrangements were made, including booking airline tickets and securing accommodations in hotels near the Holy Mosques in Makka and Medina. Each group of pilgrims is accompanied by a supervisor to guide them through the rituals and answer their questions.
Bin Khadem highlighted that performing Umrah is a cherished dream for many, often hindered by financial constraints. The SCI aims to fulfill this wish and provide the honor of visiting these sacred sites.
He also mentioned that the charity has previously organised similar campaigns, including sending cancer patients in collaboration with the Friends of Cancer Patients Committee and outstanding students from Al Qasimia University.
Bin Khadem extended his gratitude to the benefactors whose generous donations support these initiatives, ensuring they reach those in need.
