Sharjah24: Tomorrow, Thursday, the seventh round of the ADNOC Pro League will kick off, featuring three key matches over a duration of four days.
Zabeel Stadium in Dubai will host the match between Al Wasl and Al Jazira on Thursday. Al Wasl, currently in seventh place with 8 points, is looking to return to winning ways and climb to a better position, while Al Jazira, in fourth place with 12 points, hopes to continue their winning streak and stay in the top four.
The two teams have faced each other 30 times in the professional era, with Al Jazira winning 18 matches, Al Wasl winning 6, and 6 matches ending in draws.
Al Wasl's coach said during the pre-match press conference, "We know Al Jazira well; they have a distinguished group of players. The team has done a great job during the summer transfer window to recruit them. They are currently on a winning streak, scoring many goals, and possess a lot of individual skills and speed."
He added, "For us, we have achieved two victories in our last three matches, and we drew one match against Ajman, which is not bad. We need to be more focused to achieve our goals."
In the second match, on Friday, fifth-placed Al Nasr (12 points) will face third-placed Al Wahda (13 points) at Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.
This will be the 31st meeting between the two teams in the professional era, with Al Wahda winning 17 matches, Al Nasr winning 4, and 9 matches ending in draws.
Al Ain, currently in sixth place with 8 points and having a postponed match, is set to meet league leaders Al Ahli (18 points) at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium as part of the same round. The date for this match will be determined later due to Al Ain's participation in the Continental Cup, following their match against Al Ahli yesterday.
The remaining matches of the round will see Bani Yas face Sharjah at Bani Yas Stadium on Thursday, and Kalba face Al Orooba at Kalba Stadium on Friday. On Saturday, Khorfakkan will meet Diba Al Hassn, and Ajman will take on Al Batayeh.
