Sharjah 24: The UAE Football Association (UAEFA) has received the highest rating of "3 Stars" in the Asian Football Confederation's Elite Youth Scheme, thereby obtaining full membership in this scheme, which will undergo evaluation after three years, in accordance with Article 6 of the scheme’s regulations for 2021.
The UAE Football Association applied for full membership in the Elite Youth Scheme, and the AFC's approval noted that the classification system for youth academies and the UAE Professional League is expected to positively impact elite youth football development in Asia and support the scheme’s long-term success.
The Asian Football Confederation has categorised the scheme into several tiers, with the three-star category being the highest, which currently includes eight national associations: the UAE, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Qatar, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
