SCC explores cooperation with Hong Kong University

Sharjah 24: His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), received a Chinese delegation from the Business School of Hong Kong University at the Council's headquarters in Sharjah. The meeting focused on exploring areas of educational resource development and coordinating cooperation in scientific research and innovative projects. This visit was part of efforts to enhance academic cooperation between the UAE and China and explore new avenues for knowledge and expertise exchange.
Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, a member of the SCC and Chairperson of the Education, Culture, and Media Affairs Committee, attended the meeting, held on Tuesday. She emphasised the importance of the visit in opening new horizons for collaboration between the two sides.

The meeting began with a welcoming speech by Al Nuaimi, who highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration with global educational institutions to continue advancing education and scientific research and to benefit from shared expertise.

The delegation from the Business School of Hong Kong University was led by Professor Hongbin Cai, Dean of the School and Professor of Economics, who gave a presentation on the mission and strategic goals of the school. He emphasised their aim to be a leading global academic institution influencing business and economics worldwide. He also highlighted the importance of providing world-class education that nurtures researchers and pushes the boundaries of knowledge through innovative research and joint cooperation.

Sachin Tipnis, Senior Executive Director of Graduate Educational Programmes, spoke about the academic programmes offered by the school and how students benefit from them. Alice Hui, Head of Relations and Alumni Development, expressed her desire to strengthen ties between the school and similar institutions, noting that partnerships contribute to the desired educational development.

Dr. Adam Yan, Head of Strategic Partnerships, discussed ways to collaborate on innovative projects, stressing the importance of exploring new fields that promote knowledge exchange. Adrian Chan, Executive Director of Executive Education, emphasised the need to offer innovative educational programmes that meet market demands and help develop skills

The meeting featured fruitful discussions on enhancing deeper cooperation in the exchange of educational resources, with several ideas and proposals explored that could open a new chapter of collaboration between China and the UAE. The opportunities to strengthen academic and research cooperation were also discussed, reflecting the shared desire to achieve mutual developmental goals.

In conclusion, Al Nuaimi stressed the importance of maintaining ongoing communication and exchanging expertise between the two sides to achieve common goals. He expressed optimism about opening new avenues for fruitful cooperation that will benefit students and communities in both countries.
