With clean sweep: Spain thrashes Serbia in Nations League

Sharjah24: Spain dominated their hosts Serbia with a 3-0 victory in the fourth round of Group 4 in the top tier of the UEFA Nations League.

The Spanish team took an early lead with a goal from Aymeric Laporte just five minutes into the match, ending the first half ahead.

In the second half, Álvaro Morata and Alex Baena added the second and third goals for Spain in the 65th and 77th minutes.

Serbia finished the match with ten players after Strahinja Pavlović was sent off in the 76th minute.

With this win, Spain strengthened their lead in Group 4, raising their points total to 10 and boosting their chances of qualifying for the semifinals with two group stage matches remaining.

Meanwhile, Serbia remained stuck at four points, staying in third place.

In another match held at the same time, Switzerland drew 2-2 with Denmark.

Remo Freuler and Zeki Amdouni scored for Switzerland in the 26th minute and in stoppage time of the first half.

Denmark’s goals came from Gustav Isaksen and Christian Eriksen in the 27th and 69th minutes.

Denmark maintained their second-place standing in the group with seven points, while Switzerland remained at the bottom with just one point, letting slip a victory that was within their grasp at home.
