Sharjah24: Maryam Al-Qatari, Director of the Elderly Care Home in Sharjah, stated that the Elderly Care Home, part of the Sharjah Social Services Department, has launched activities for the "International Day of Older Persons." These events are organised by the home and involve participation from seniors enrolled at the centre, as well as various local entities from different sectors.
In exclusive comments to "Sharjah 24," Al-Qatari emphasised that the goal of these activities is to enhance the integration of the elderly into society and to ensure they receive the necessary attention. She confirmed that the dedicated activities and events for them will continue throughout October on a daily basis, providing an entertaining and educational environment that improves their quality of life.
Al-Qatari added that the events began with a variety of activities, including performances by a military band and folk dances presented by children, alongside topics and discussions related to marine life and healthy living. Workshops were also organised to encourage the elderly to participate and engage with the community, motivating them to be active members of their surroundings.
The Director of the Elderly Care Home pointed out that these events are part of the home’s efforts to provide care and attention to the elderly, bringing joy to their hearts and offering them opportunities to participate in activities that strengthen their connections with younger generations and enhance their sense of belonging to the community.
