Arsenal took the lead with a goal by Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli after 20 minutes, benefiting from a pass from his Dutch teammate Jueren Timber.
In the first minute of stoppage time, the scenario was repeated with a second goal scored by Leandro Trossard after a pass from Martinelli.
But Leicester City turned the tables on Arsenal in front of their fans at the Emirates Stadium in the second half, as James Justin scored two goals in the 47th and 63rd minutes.
Arsenal snatched a 2-0 win in stoppage time as Belgian Leandro Trossard scored in the 94th minute, and Kai Havertz completed the four goals in the 99th minute, to raise the Gunners' tally to 14 points, level with leaders Manchester City.
Arsenal benefited from the stumble of defending champions Manchester City, who drew 1-1 with Newcastle United earlier on Saturday, but Manchester City are ahead on goal difference.
On the other hand, Leicester City's struggles continued and they remained without a win since the start of the competition, freezing their tally at three points from three draws, to remain in 16th place
