Sharjah 24: The Emirates Library and Information Association (ELIA), in cooperation with House of Wisdom, organised a specialised training course on “Scientific Research and its Methods”, with the participation of employees of public libraries in the country and some employees of government entities. The course is held from September 23 to 26, and is presented by Prof. Dr. Hassan Awad Al Sarihi, an expert in the field of scientific research.
The course focuses on several main axes that aim to enhance a deep understanding of the concept of scientific research and its importance, as well as scientific research methods and the reasons for trusting them. It also addresses the steps of scientific research, from planning to implementation, and how to choose the appropriate method for conducting research.
Fahad Ali Al Mamari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Library and Information Association, said: “Organising this course comes within the framework of the association’s efforts to develop the skills of public library employees and government entities in the field of scientific research, and to enhance their ability to deal with various research methods in an accurate scientific manner. The goal is to enable those working in the sector to provide distinguished research that contributes to enriching libraries and society alike.”
Al Mamari added: “We are keen to provide high-quality training programmes that contribute to building a strong knowledge base for trainees, and support the UAE’s directives to promote scientific research as a basic tool for development and innovation.”
