Sharjah TV's "Maktabat" won the Al Owais Creativity Award

Sharjah 24: Maktabat, which airs on Sharjah TV, received the Al Owais Creativity Award in its 28th edition for the year 2023 in the category of Best Cultural or Social Local Programme (Television-RRadio). A large number of intellectuals and creatives attended the ceremony on Monday at the Cultural and Scientific Association headquarters in Dubai, where His Excellency Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, accepted the award.
Alya Al Mansouri produces and hosts Maktabat, which is considered one of Sharjah TV's most significant cultural programs. The show takes viewers on a cultural tour across numerous libraries across continents, showing them prominent libraries and bookshops, as well as the critical role these institutions play in developing each city's cultural and intellectual landscapes.

On this occasion, Salem Ali Al Ghaithi expressed his delight at the honour, praising the program's staff on their accomplishment in finding the immense riches hidden in libraries across Asia, Africa, and Europe. He emphasised that the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority's efforts continue to raise cultural awareness among the public, in accordance with the orders of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Salem Al Ghaithi also praised the Al Owais Creativity Award's significant role in supporting cultural and social programs, expressing gratitude for this recognition, which encourages future efforts in the service of culture, thought, and literature.

The Maktabat show crew consists of Mohammed Al Yasi as director, Khaled Al Hosani and Abdullah Al Asiri as cameramen, Sultan Al Shamsi as production manager, and Alya Al Mansouri as producer and presenter.
