Sharjah 24: Fatima Mutawaq Al Hosani, representative of the media office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, stated that the Health Promotion Department honoured the public and private schools participating in the Health Promoting Schools Programme at the Sharjah Education Academy, in appreciation of their efforts and in honour of their pivotal role in ensuring the creation of a healthy educational environment and raising healthier generations.
She said that under the generous patronage of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, the Health Promotion Department organised a ceremony to honour the winning schools in the Health Promoting Schools Programme, which is the first of its kind in the UAE, in the presence of Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department, Her Excellency Iman Rashid Saif, Director General of the Health Promotion Department, and a number of representatives of the participating and supporting entities of the programme.
She added that the honouring ceremony, which was held, on Monday, at the headquarters of the Sharjah Education Academy, included 32 public and private schools in the gold, silver and bronze categories, in addition to honouring 8 strategic partner entities, along with the honouring 36 programme evaluators. The launch of the second edition of the programme was also announced.
