Rubu' Qarn launches Virtual Cultural Journeys for young members

Sharjah 24: "Rubu' Qarn and the World" is a programme that offers members of Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, aged 9 to 18, the opportunity to discover the cultures, customs, and traditions of various countries. It includes three virtual trips to Palestine, South Korea, and Morocco. The event will take place on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, and those interested can register through the following link:

This programme aims to enhance participants' knowledge of the cultural and artistic heritage of these countries by exploring their landmarks and history. It also includes reading sessions that highlight the literature and thought of each country, promoting cultural exchange and enriching participants' experience with greater understanding and interaction with diverse cultures.

During the programme, participants will explore the culture of Palestine by learning about traditional clothing and popular foods, with a chance to learn about the history of the Palestinian kuffiyeh and traditional embroidery by decorating jars in this style and planting Palestinian plants. Additionally, participants will enjoy a virtual visit to the Republic of South Korea, where they will learn about Korean culture and practice culinary arts, such as preparing healthy rice balls (kimbap), along with discovering the art of mother-of-pearl inlay to create unique medallions—a renowned Korean craft. Finally, participants will virtually visit the Kingdom of Morocco, where they will learn the art of mosaic-making by designing tables and other pieces adorned with colorful tiles, in addition to learning about the most prominent Moroccan arts and cultures.
