Sharjah 24: Al Subaihiya Suburb Council in Khorfakkan, affiliated with Sharjah Districts Affairs Department (SDAD), held a meeting with His Excellency Engineer Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), at the Authority’s headquarters in Sharjah.
The meeting was within the framework of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the Council and the Authority, and developing infrastructure-related projects in the Council’s areas of jurisdiction.
The meeting constituted an important step towards continuing to enhance cooperation between government entities and suburban councils, which contributes to improving services provided to the community and enhances the development of infrastructure in various areas.
The meeting began with a warm reception by His Excellency Engineer Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, who welcomed the attendees and praised the role of suburban councils in serving the community.
In his speech, Al Othmani stressed the importance of suburban councils communicating with government institutions to meet the needs of residents and improve the quality of life in residential areas.
Al Othmani said that the role of the suburban councils in enhancing communication between citizens and government agencies is indispensable. They are the link that contributes to conveying the community’s observations and aspirations, and works to develop services to meet their needs.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Eng. Yousef Al Othmani, Authority employees, and His Excellency Dr. Khalid Ahmed Al Shehhi, Chairman of the Subahiya Suburb Council, members and employees of the Council.
A number of important issues were discussed during the meeting, including existing road projects that have been completed in the areas of Al Zubarah, Luluiya and Al Harai in Khorfakkan.
Future projects planned in the areas under the administrative jurisdiction of the Council were also discussed, and the observations and suggestions received from residents regarding improving roads were reviewed.
The Chairman and members of the Council expressed their appreciation for the constructive cooperation with SRTA and stressed the importance of its continuation to ensure the achievement of common goals
At the end of the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Khalid Ahmed Al Shehhi expressed his thanks to His Excellency Eng. Yousef Khamis Al Othmani and all the Authority’s employees for the warm reception.
Al Shehhi stressed that the Council will continue to work on enhancing cooperation with the SRTA to ensure the implementation of projects that serve the interests of citizens and achieve their aspirations.
