Sharjah24: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of University of Al Dhaid, inaugurated the new University of Al Dhaid building this morning, Monday, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The university building, located on a total area of 412,000 square metres, has the capacity to accommodate 2,000 students.
In his address to the people of the central region, Sharjah, and the UAE, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah blessed the opening of the new University of Al Dhaid building, describing it as a beautifully completed facility that houses various essential sciences for life, such as agriculture and veterinary sciences. He noted the inclusion of supporting facilities such as crop farms, vegetable farms, dairy farms, poultry farms, and goat farms.
His Highness also discussed the planning behind the establishment of University of Al Dhaid, highlighting the importance of having supporting facilities and farms to aid students in practical exams and reinforce the curriculum. He mentioned that the accelerated launch of food security projects was a precursor to the opening of University of Al Dhaid.

His Highness spoke about the wheat cultivation project, which is distinguished by its high protein content, reaching 19% in the latest harvest, the highest in the world. This wheat is free from chemicals and toxins, and His Highness proudly presented this clean and high-quality product, which benefits agriculture students at the university. He also mentioned the farm’s waste, which is used as feed for cows, sheep, and livestock.
He touched on the dairy farm project and the research conducted on cows to find unmodified breeds. He explained that these cows produce A2A2 protein, which has 20 health benefits for consumers. The farm currently serves the community with healthy, clean products and provides students with opportunities to study the benefits of these products.

His Highness also discussed the poultry farm project, formerly known as the chicken farm. He referenced the Quranic verse, “And the flesh of fowl that they desire,” explaining that the project, named “Poultry Flee,” will produce red meat similar to birds, rather than the white meat of chickens. These birds will be raised in open fields, fed chemical-free food, and given natural, traditional medicines to boost their immunity. This natural approach will affect the cooked food, supporting university studies and maintaining community health.
Sharjah Ruler Inaugurates University of Al DhaidHis Highness spoke about the goat development project in the central region after various interventions. He explained that the research team selected purebred goats that had not been altered, and these were crossbred with selected pure strains. His Highness noted that there have been many global experiences with breeding, some of which have faced challenges that compromised the success of the breeding. However, Sharjah achieved success on the first attempt, thanks to divine blessings. He revealed that the breeding process involved using Cypriot males from Syria, which will produce abundant milk, while the “Bargoth” breed, originating from South Africa, was used for meat production.

His Highness also discussed the emirate's pastures, which aim to preserve these pure breeds. He touched on the vegetable project that enhances food quality and mentioned the wheat distribution initiative, which provided wheat seeds to 800 wheat growers in the country. He urged everyone to be mindful of God in life, family, country, and future generations, quoting the noble verse: “And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out and will provide for him from where he does not expect.”
His Highness expressed his great satisfaction with these achievements and the presence of students at University of Al Dhaid who are working diligently to support food security projects. These students will manage these projects in the future after receiving sufficient education, contributing to community health and fulfilling their responsibilities.

He revealed the 2025 projects programme, which he described as a year of goodness. It will start with the launch of the central goat breeding project at the beginning of the year after completing the breeding process, followed by the opening of the poultry farm next June. His Highness also mentioned plans to increase milk production at the Mleiha dairy farm to meet everyone's needs by expanding the number of cows.
He also discussed the Reed cultivation project and its expansion to obtain chemical-free products, with details to be revealed next year. Additionally, he highlighted the project for producing organic honey from reserves in the Emirate of Sharjah, which provide bees with a natural environment to feed on pure trees.

His Highness talked about the Madina water project, which includes a deep lake where excess water is added during the winter. He prayed for divine rainfall and for the earth to produce rivers to help resolve water issues.
In closing, His Highness wished everyone success and hoped that the coming year would bring increased developmental and food security projects, along with success in serving human and community interests.

Upon arriving at the University of Al Dhaid building, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah hoisted the university flag on the flagpole and unveiled the commemorative plaque in front of the administrative building, marking the official opening of the University.
