M.O.D UAE claimed first place, with Commando Group in second and Al Wahda Jiu-Jitsu Club third. This year saw a 50% increase in professional competitors, all vying for ranking points and a spot in the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, highlighted the tournament's significance in elevating the sport both locally and internationally. "The championship showcases the finest talent and supports our mission to build global champions," he said.
Masilva Noza, coach of M.O.D Academy, praised the high level of competition and the opportunity for athletes to refine their skills. "This event is crucial for preparing for major competitions and improving international rankings," he noted.
Emirati champion Khalid Al Shehhi, who won gold in the 62kg professional category, expressed his excitement about the challenging competition and its role in his preparation for future events.
Brazilian athletes Jefferson Alves Jotio and Pablo Castodia also made notable achievements, with Jotio testing his skills as a new black belt and Castodia securing gold in the brown belt category after winning in the purple belt division last year.
The championship underscored Abu Dhabi's ability to host top-tier events, setting the stage for the upcoming Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
