Sharjah 24 – AFP: Russia reported advances in eastern Ukraine on Sunday, while Ukraine faced deadly air strikes and urged the West to allow more retaliatory strikes inside Russia. Moscow has intensified aerial attacks as Ukraine pushes its cross-border offensive into Russia’s Kursk region, reshaping the war.
A Russian air strike killed two in Ukraine's Sumy region, while another strike in Donetsk killed two women. Moscow's forces claimed to capture Novohrodivka, advancing toward the key logistics hub Pokrovsk.

Ukrainian President Zelensky called for more Western support to strike Russian military targets, as Russian air raids killed dozens in Poltava and Lviv last week. Ukraine also launched drone attacks on Russian military sites, arguing these are legitimate targets under international law.
