Sharjah 24 – AFP: Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov advanced to the third round of the US Open men's competition by defeating Australian Rinki Hijikata in straight sets: 6/1, 6/1, 7/6 (7/4).
Dimitrov, ranked ninth globally, will face the winner of the match between Dutchman Talon Griekspoor and Argentine Sebastian Baez in the next round.
