The versatile 24-year-old marks Barça's second signing of the transfer window, following their high-profile acquisition of England international Anthony Gordon from Newcastle. Known for his lightning speed and ability to play either centrally or on the wings, Adeyemi bolsters Barcelona's attacking options following the departure of veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.

Barcelona were left short in attack after Marcus Rashford returned to Manchester United following the end of his loan spell. The Spanish champions have also submitted a bid for Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, who remains their primary target this summer.

Adeyemi previously made his debut for the German national team in 2021 under current Barça manager Hansi Flick. He originally joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022, scoring 36 goals in 146 appearances across all competitions over four seasons prior to his move to Spain.
