Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Club delegation for junior handball players traveled, on Friday, via Sharjah International Airport, for the external preparatory camp in Bosnia, organised by the club for the youth system, from August 16 to 25, as part of the club's teams' preparations for the 2024-2025 sports season.
The camp includes 28 players, who are the core of Sharjah Sports Club Junior Teams (A) and (B), accompanied by the team's administrator Abdul Aziz Al Hammadi, coaches Karim Al Matrawi and Mustafa Farhat, treatment specialist Mohammed Abu Daif, and mission officer Mohammed Safir.
It is expected that the 10-day training camp will include training sessions during mornings and evenings, in addition to playing a number of friendly matches with European teams.
His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, Member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club, Head of the Team Sports Department, stated that the external camps come within the framework of the club's strategic plan to raise the players’ technical, physical and mental capabilities, and to provide them with opportunities to interact with foreign schools, in order to continue developing performance and maintaining achievements, as Sharjah Club has the largest base of high-quality players in all age groups for handball and basketball, which is the main tributary to the national teams.
Al Hussan also thanked the Sharjah Sports Council, headed by His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, for the continuous support for the Emirate's clubs, especially team sports, which are witnessing a boom in the methodology of preparing teams through the continuation of external camps over the past years.
It is noteworthy that the Sharjah team for the junior category has won the league competition 5 times, including 4 consecutive titles, and won the Emirates Cup on 6 occasions, including 4 consecutive cups, as Sharjah (A) and (B) played an exceptional final of the Cup Championship last season, and the two teams shared the crowning of the league and the cup 2023-2024.
