The Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) was founded as a part of the UAE's efforts to advance and elevate the public education sector. It aligns with the visionary leadership's objectives for the next half-century. Committed to enhancing education quality in public schools and kindergartens, the institution implements strategic development programmes to ensure all students receive an education that equips them for future challenges.

Emirates Schools Establishment: commitment to academic brilliance

The Emirates Schools Establishment was established under Federal Decree-Law No. 15 of 2016, which became effective in January 2021. This decree was issued by the late His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (may his soul rest in peace).

The ESE is dedicated to advancing public education by providing exceptional educational services and implementing policies that align with the country’s educational goals, with a strong emphasis on meeting labour market needs. This institution also develops strategies and programmes to nurture students and foster a comprehensive, supportive learning environment for them.

In addition, the ESE sets performance evaluation standards, monitors the implementation of development plans in educational institutions, and provides training and technical support to educators and administrators. To maintain high academic standards, it conducts national and international exams and offers recommendations for legislation aimed at improving public education. The ESE also manages and operates various educational settings, including kindergartens, schools, and institutions, ensuring the delivery of quality education.

A brighter tomorrow: Emirates Schools Establishment’s services

The Emirates Schools Establishment strives to facilitate communication within the educational community and enhance services for students, parents, and education officers. The ESE's website offers a variety of valuable services, including:

Handling inquiries, feedback, and suggestions

The ESE offers a comprehensive service to manage inquiries, feedback, and suggestions, with the goal of enhancing the learning experience and service quality. This service includes the following:

Submitting an inquiry

This 24/7 service promptly addresses customer inquiries through the institution’s official channels. Inquiries are analysed to understand customer needs, leading to tailored adjustments in services, procedures, and operations. Responses are provided within a set timeframe via text messages and email, ensuring an improved customer experience and satisfaction.

Providing feedback

Feedback is received around the clock through official channels and analysed to enhance service quality. Timely responses are delivered via notifications, text messages, and email, ensuring effective customer engagement and exceeding expectations.

Making a suggestion

This service continuously monitors customer and employee needs by receiving suggestions 24/7 through official channels. These suggestions drive improvements in services, procedures, and operations. Responses are provided within a specified timeframe via text messages and email, fostering communication and operational enhancements.

Student registration in public schools

The ESE streamlines the registration and enrollment process in public schools, offering efficient services for a seamless experience. To achieve this, it provides the following services:

Applying for public school admission

This service facilitates student registration and enrollment in public schools nationwide, covering all educational stages from kindergarten to 12th grade, based on approved categories. This includes enrolling new students in kindergarten and 1st grade, transferring students from a private school locally or abroad, and enrolling Emarati students from 5th to 8th grade in the Advanced stream (formerly Elite stream).

Applying for registration in home study

The Emirates Schools Establishment offers comprehensive continuous education programmes in various streams, including the Home-Schooling Stream for UAE citizens and residents. This allows students from grade 7 to grade 12 to independently study the Ministry of Education curriculum without attending physical classrooms. Students take online exams following the ESE guidelines. This option is available for those who have exceeded the maximum admission age for private and public schools.

The second stream, the General Academic Stream, is tailored for UAE female citizens and spouses of UAE citizens. It offers live online lessons for students from grade 7 to grade 12.

The Literacy Eradication Stream is the third stream, designed to assess the academic level of citizens and residents who lack basic literacy and mathematics skills. It targets students aged nine and above who have exceeded the maximum admission age. The programme covers grades 1 to 6 in two stages, including the primary and the secondary stages. As for assessments in this stream, they are conducted based on the student's age and literacy abilities.

The final stream, the Applied Track, is a vocational programme for male citizens and children of female citizens who wish to complete their studies in the eleventh and twelfth grades "Level Three and Level Four". It is open to those who have exceeded the age limit for general education admission and students transitioning from homeschooling.
