Sharjah 24: Sharjah Media City "Shams" confirmed that it has succeeded over the past years in activating youth participation and enhancing their leadership, as it has set an annual agenda for youth activities and events.
"Shams" has succeeded, through its different initiatives, in creating 14,964 jobs so far, including 2,600 jobs dedicated to youth, as part of its strategy and firm commitment to empowering youth to establish their own business, which contributes to providing job opportunities and developing young talents.

As part of its support for small and medium-sized enterprises, "Shams" provides attractive business establishment packages, in addition to modern infrastructure and continuous guidance, which contributes to building a vibrant and prosperous business community in Sharjah.

Shams hosted various events such as the Young Media Leaders Programme (YMLP), which aims to prepare the next generation to succeed in their fields. These initiatives reflect Shams’ vision of building an interactive and stimulating environment that supports the professional and personal growth of young people. 

Rashid Abdullah Al Obaid, Director of Sharjah Media City (Shams), stated that Shams is proud of its role in supporting young people and providing opportunities that help them achieve their professional ambitions. Shams commitment to empowering young people and developing local talents reflects its vision of building a bright and sustainable future for the next generation. 

Al Obaid added that Shams will continue to enhance innovation and creativity among young people by providing continuous support and constructive initiatives. Shams has a pioneering experience in empowering young people and investing in their energies and capabilities as the primary tool for change and development capable of leading society towards a better future.” 

Al Obaid stressed that the "International Youth Day", celebrated annually on 12 August, is an opportunity to highlight the UAE achievements in supporting and empowering youth in all fields. The UAE is one of the first countries to institutionalise empowering youth and enhancing their participation. 

Rashid Abdullah Al Obaid confirmed that "Shams" aims, through its annual agenda for youth activities and events, and within its strategy and objectives, to enhance the presence of youth and help them adopt policies and strategies to improve the quality of life of youth, support their needs, build their capabilities and invest in their skills. 

Al Obeid concluded that "Shams" is a major incubator for the aspirations and ambitions of youth through its support and encouragement of many initiatives and programmes that provide them with a wide scope to participate in building a better future.
