Sharjah 24: In collaboration with the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, the Sharjah Capability Development, a subsidiary of the Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, has launched the second edition of the "Sports Leadership Programme." This initiative aims to empower a select group of young women with leadership skills in sports management.
The programme targets 20 female leaders from the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, aged 25 and above, and spans a period of six months divided into three phases. The first phase involves learning how to manage sports teams, facilities, and equipment. The second phase includes studying best practices in South Korea, known for its advanced sports management. The third and final phase comprises three specialised units focused on sports marketing fundamentals, sports governance, and identifying and training sports talents.

Having successfully completed the first phase, the participants are now preparing to embark on a unique ten-day experience in South Korea with sports leadership experts. Participant Alyazia Al Suwaidi expressed excitement about the field visits in South Korea, emphasising the opportunity to see theoretical concepts in practice.

Khalid Al Nakhi, Director of the Sharjah Capability Development, highlighted the importance of youth-oriented programmes that provide essential support to prepare them for prominent leadership positions in the future. He also emphasised learning from other countries' experiences to enhance the potential of this promising generation across various fields, not just sports.

Hanan Al Mahmoud, Vice Chairperson of Sharjah Women’s Sports and a board member of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation, praised the Sports Leadership Programme for its success in institutional integration. She noted that the programme’s design is based on thorough research to understand beneficiaries' needs, ensuring it meets expectations and achieves desired goals. This success is evident in the current second edition, with 20 sports leaders ready for their field visits to South Korea after completing the theoretical phase.
