Sharjah 24: Dr. Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, and Dr. Syafruddin Kambo, former Indonesian Minister of Human Development, Chairman of the World Peace Foundation, and Vice President of the Global Malay Muslim Union, discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation and share expertise in the field of Quranic studies.
The discussion took place during the reception of Dr. Kambo by Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al-Tunaiji. Dr. Kambo was accompanied by Dr. Ali Hasan Al-Bahr, Deputy Secretary-General of the Indonesian Council of Ulama, Dr. Anang Rekza, Secretary-General of the Association of Indonesian Islamic Institutes, and Nazar Mushadi, Head of Cooperation and International Relations of the Indonesian Mosque Council.
Dr. Al-Tunaiji warmly welcomed the delegation from the Indonesian World Peace Foundation and highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration to promote tolerance, spread Islamic knowledge and culture, and emphasise the Academy's role in conveying Arab and Islamic identity globally. He informed the visitors that the Academy is founded on three main pillars: the Global Sharjah Electronic Recitation Platform, which facilitates obtaining Quranic certifications in various recitations for students from 170 countries; research and studies, and Quranic museums, which provide insights into the history of the Quran, its sciences, the science of recitation, and notable figures in Quranic studies.
Dr. Syafruddin Kambo expressed his admiration for the scientific and research projects and rare manuscripts he observed at the Holy Quran Academy, noting that it is a unique institution and a cultural icon specialising in the ten Quranic recitations in the UAE. He mentioned that graduates certified in Quranic recitations by the Academy serve as ambassadors of the Quran worldwide.
Dr. Kambo invited Dr. Al-Tunaiji to visit the World Peace Foundation, highlighting the strong historical ties between the UAE and Indonesia, which are reflected in their shared vision for sustainable development and prosperity.
Dr. Al-Tunaiji then led the Indonesian delegation on a tour of the Academy's Quranic museums, showcasing unique manuscripts and artifacts that narrate the history of the Quran, its sciences, notable figures, and scientific miracles, as well as the Kiswa of the Kaaba. The visit concluded with the delegation watching the film "Guardians of the Message," which depicts the journey of preserving Quranic manuscripts from the time of the Companions to the present day, highlighting the Academy's role in preserving these rare manuscripts.
The delegation expressed their gratitude for the warm hospitality and exchanged commemorative gifts with the Academy's administration.
