The first day featured a workshop on telescopes supervised by the Sharjah Planetarium team, in which participants were introduced to the history of telescopes, types and key features, as well as explored various types of lenses and mirrors. They also learned how to setup telescopes for stargazing.
During the second day, participants were introduced to “Stellarium,” a planetarium software that simulates the night sky with advanced display technology, allowing users to identify the positions of planets, moons, comets, constellations, satellites, the International Space Station, and celestial bodies. On the third day, participants visited the Sharjah Astronomical Observatory (SAO) at the Academy, where they had the opportunity to explore the observatory and witness the great efforts exerted by the SAO team in stargazing and observing celestial bodies using various advanced astronomical telescopes. Participants also enjoyed watching a scientific show at the Sharjah Planetarium titled "Journey to the Edge of the Universe". The workshop was concluded with a recognition ceremony for participants of the summer camp.
