Sharjah24: Today, Saturday, July 27, 2024, Al Muntada Al Islami “Islamic Forum”, in collaboration with the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs, is hosting a scholarly session titled "Explaining Juz' Amma." This initiative seeks to enrich the community with religious interpretation sciences, boost religious awareness, and promote Islamic culture. The session, aimed at various community segments, offers a clear and simplified explanation of this part of the Holy Quran. It aims to deepen the understanding of both citizens and residents about the Quran and the importance of integrating its teachings into daily life. The sessions will be held daily after Maghrib prayer at Al-Falah Mosque until August 8.
The forum stresses that all sources of lenient legislation are a cultural priority in Sharjah. The emirate is committed to enhancing cultural awareness through its respected sources. In this context, the forum focuses on grounding societal knowledge in legitimate sources and strengthening the community with noble Quranic morals.
Discussing the session's significance, Dr. Majid Bouchelibi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Forum, stated, "We believe that learning the explanation of Juz' Amma is crucial for several reasons, primarily: enhancing religious understanding by elucidating the profound meanings and important messages in the Holy Quran, which helps individuals properly apply its teachings in their daily lives. Additionally, it supports morals and values, as Juz' Amma includes many surahs that emphasise good morals and noble human values. Learning their explanation reinforces these values within individuals and society, and it also strengthens community bonds through a shared understanding of the Quran’s teachings, fostering collective awareness and social cohesion, leading to a cohesive and harmonious community."
He added, "The session stands out for its simple explanation of Juz' Amma in several ways: through clear language, as the part contains short and simple surahs in their linguistic structure, making them easy to understand even for non-specialists in Arabic. It also uniquely addresses fundamental and important topics in Islam, such as faith in God and the Last Day, and good morals, making them easier to comprehend and interpret. The session also reviews repetition and clarification in many surahs in Juz' Amma, which contain repeated essential topics and messages, helping to solidify and clarify meanings better for the listener or reader. These aspects make Juz' Amma an excellent starting point for learning Quranic interpretation and understanding the Holy Quran more deeply."
Dr. Majid concluded that holding scholarly sessions for Quranic interpretation throughout the year is highly important to the Islamic Forum. The primary source of lenient legislation has been a top priority within the forum’s agenda in the emirate for decades. This aligns with Sharjah’s efforts to nurture Islamic culture through education, awareness, and dissemination. These sessions aim to enhance religious understanding and support Islamic morals and values in the community, contributing to building an aware and cohesive society.
