Sharjah 24: Al Madam Cultural Sports Club began the third week of the Sharjah Summer activities, “Our Holiday is Different,” with a group of activities that support and enhance the concept of sustainability, the most prominent of which is a workshop on planting in glass containers.
During the programme’s activities, the participants were able to design miniature gardens, with the aim of enhancing the concept of sustainability and environmental preservation.
The members of the summer programme participated also in 5 sustainable sports workshops in football, basketball, handball, volleyball, in addition to table tennis, which were presented by the club’s coaches and through which they addressed a number of valuable topics that strengthened the concept of sustainability among the members, in addition to explaining its importance, and the extent of its connection with sports and the athlete’s need to be equipped with knowledge about sustainability in all fields.
The club also organised, within the agenda of the fourth week of Sharjah Summer activities, “Our Holiday is Different,” a sustainable shopping workshop or “Green Marketing,” which was presented by specialists from the UAE Environment Friends Society. They explained how to apply environmentally friendly standards in order to achieve the equation of financial profit and maintain a sustainable environment, and how to contribute to the well-being of the planet and society, and achieve good financial income.
The workshop also included a detailed explanation of ways to recycle consumed daily materials in safe and healthy ways that preserve the environment.
On the sidelines of the workshop, club employees who excelled in organising the activities of the third week of activity were honoured, in addition to honouring the distinguished members who achieved first places in the competitions and sports of the third week.
