This came during the association's general assembly meeting, which was recently held under the chairmanship of Wahida Abdul Aziz, the Chairperson of the Friends of Arthritis Patients Association, and in the presence of Mariam Bin Safwan from the Ministry of Community Development and Khawla Al Hammadi from the Social Services Department, as well as the members of the association's board of directors.
The meeting included a presentation of the report on the activities of the Friends of Arthritis Patients Association for the previous year, in addition to the ratification of the minutes of the previous general assembly meeting, the presentation of the operational plan for the association's activities and initiatives, and this year's budget. Ways to develop work mechanisms were also discussed with the aim of entrenching health awareness among members of the community about the "disease of the era" - arthritis.
Her Excellency Wahida Abdul Aziz welcomed the attendees, praising the continuous efforts made by the association's employees and volunteers in achieving its goals aimed at caring for the health and safety of community members, spreading health awareness about arthritis, how to live with the disease, and providing material and moral support to those affected by these diseases. She pointed out that the Friends of Arthritis Patients Association has managed to become a supporting partner in enhancing health awareness in the Emirate of Sharjah, achieving many accomplishments and presenting numerous qualitative initiatives during 2023 and the first half of 2024, with the aim of strengthening the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah to become the healthiest city in the region and the world, in line with the directives and visions of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.
Wahida Abdul Aziz emphasized the importance of this meeting as it formed a platform for brainstorming, which contributed to coming up with proposals and outputs that contribute to enhancing work mechanisms and entrenching a culture of partnerships with friendly agencies, to launch wide-ranging and comprehensive health awareness programs and campaigns to raise awareness about this disease.
