Friends of Arthritis Patients Association launch summer campaign

Sharjah24: The Friends of Arthritis Patients Association recently launched their awareness campaign ‘A Summer Without Osteoporosis" campaign’ at the Dhaid Cultural Sports Club. The campaign, organised under the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, aims to raise awareness about arthritis and promote a healthy lifestyle among individuals affected by the condition.
Representatives from the Friends of Arthritis Patients Association, the Dhaid Cultural Sports Club, and various entities and institutions, including the Ministry of Health and Prevention, gathered at the launch event. The attendees included 50 individuals from diverse backgrounds, representing different segments of society.

The campaign features educational programs that bring attention to arthritis and the importance of coming together to support patients in overcoming their challenges. 

A comprehensive campaign has been launched, focusing on educational programmes that raise awareness about arthritis and the importance of cooperation in supporting patients to overcome their challenges. The campaign includes informative lectures on nutrition, health consultations for osteoporosis, and free medical screenings.

Participants can also look forward to engaging in competitions, winning prizes, and enjoying recreational and sports activities. The campaign began at the Dhaid Cultural Sports Club, then proceeded to Khorfakkan, and will end in Kalba.

Her Excellency Waheeda Abdulaziz, Chairperson of Friends of Arthritis Patients, expressed her happiness at launching the campaign, highlighted that the campaign aims to continue raising awareness about arthritis among patients and the wider community. 

This initiative aligns with the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and wife of the Ruler of Sharjah. Waheeda Abdulaziz emphasised Sheikha Jawaher's commitment to fostering a supportive healthcare environment that enhances public understanding of arthritis and aids patients in overcoming daily challenges to lead healthier lives.

She shed lights on the significance of the  campaign as a way to create positive impact in the community, with encouraging support for patients while promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle, aligning with the event's objectives.
