Sharjah 24: Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah, stated that President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, declared July 18 of each year is the Union Pledge Day.
It reflects the values of loyalty and gratitude for the sacrifices and efforts of the founder of the UAE and the builder of its renaissance, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his brothers the founding fathers, who laid the foundations of its union.
He explained, in a statement on this occasion, that adopting July 18 as the Union Pledge Day commemorates this pivotal occasion in the history of the United Arab Emirates, confirming the principles upon which it was founded, and consolidating the approach established by the founding fathers, when the union adopted a vision and approach for building the state and achieving its development project.
He added: "We congratulate President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his brothers, Their Highnesses, the rulers of the emirates and the UAE, the government and the people, on this day, and we pledge to them that this covenant will remain firmly rooted in our conscience, and that we will complete and strengthen what the UAE has achieved, over the past five decades in great development achievements at all levels.”
