The Race Car Lab programs provided a creative space for the members of the Khorfakkan and Kalba Youth Centers. Through a series of training stages and workshops, they gained a deep understanding of car structure design and acquired skills in designing and manufacturing miniature prototype cars in three dimensions, using different materials in innovative ways and leveraging advanced technology in their development.
The participants learned about the selection and use of suitable materials for building the car structure, such as wood, epoxy, fiberglass, plastic wheels, and metal axles. The challenge involved shaping the wooden block and designing it into an aerodynamic car capable of racing on a downhill track in the shortest possible time, while adhering to specific criteria regarding size, weight, and design.
The participants acquired skills in transforming miniature prototype models into realistic air-powered cars without using internal engines, making them eligible to participate in races. They also learned the basics of painting and mechanical principles.
The Race Car Lab programs aim to develop participants' problem-solving skills, technical proficiency, and precision in execution. Additionally, the programs enhance their capacity for creative thinking and innovation in car design to achieve better performance and an enjoyable racing experience.
