Sharjah24: Sharjah Children Foundation, affiliated with Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, is preparing to launch its summer camp that offers a diverse range of workshops, specialised programmes, and fun educational trips targeting children aged 6-12 years old. The aim is to enable children to make the most of their summer vacation by engaging in various activities that contribute to developing and honing their skills.
The camp, which will be held at (12) centres spread across the Emirate of Sharjah over four weeks from July 13 to August 8, will include approximately (45) specialised courses and workshops implemented within the approved tracks of the foundation, under the guidance of a team of experts. The aim is to develop children's talents in various fields, including workshops in theatre and performing arts such as shadow theatre, silent theatre, and musical scenes that focus on creating a musical theatre performance.
Children will also have the opportunity to refine their life skills through specialised workshops in culinary arts and the "Through Your Ideas" programme, which focuses on public speaking and enhancing communication and expression skills. Additionally, there will be workshops on ocean sustainability, health, and the "I Create with My Hands" programme for handicrafts.
In the field of literature and languages, children will participate in several engaging reading workshops, including "A Story in a Profession", "The Story Bakery" which focuses on developing children's skills in creating acting scenes. In the field of science and technology, children will learn the basics of building and programming robots in an exciting manner and work on a series of technological projects in electronics, building electronic circuits, and developing their skills in science, technology, and engineering.
Art lovers will enjoy learning a variety of interesting workshops, such as "Creating on Sand", "Coloured Threads", "Portrait Art", and "Sea Waves". Participants will also have the opportunity to make flowers in a creative way and transform them into decor for the art studio corners in the "Art and Imagination" workshop, in addition to participating in various other workshops such as digital arts, birdhouse making, and 3D painting.
Children will also engage in a series of exciting sports challenges, including fencing, archery, football, basketball, climbing, gymnastics, athletics, and water challenges to learn the basic skills of swimming. They will also receive training in the basics of Judo and Taekwondo in self-defense sports.
Children will also have the opportunity to experience learning through entertainment in programmes related to arts, theatre, science, technology, life skills, and Lego construction. They will also acquire handicraft skills in making wooden models in the "Wooden Arts" workshop at the Entertainment Learning Centre.
In addition, a summer camp will be held in the Al Hamriyah area from August 12 to 15, targeting children in the area to make the most of their free time, hone their talents, and develop their skills through the diverse workshops offered to them in various fields.
