Sharjah 24: As part of the efforts of the Cultural Office at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah, to strengthen cultural relations between the ofice and the relevant institutions, a delegation headed by Salha Ghabish, Chairperson of the Cultural Office, visited the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy.
The delegation was received by the Executive Director of the academy, Professor Peter Barlow, and Raja Ahmed Al Hamash, Deputy Executive Director.

The office delegation reviewed the council’s efforts to make theatre a means of development in society, through family theatre initiatives, and showed clips of theatrical works produced by the office’s family theatre.

Those in charge of the academy expressed their admiration for this production, and aspects of cooperation were discussed between the two sides, especially with regard to the academy’s participation in the singing arts, which the office organises within its activities, and in intellectual forums, and organising workshops on acting, directed by the family theatre team of young actors.

The office delegation, accompanied by Professor Barlow, toured the academy’s facilities and learned about its role, as each facility specialises in a performing art such as acting, decoration and clothing, sound and lighting engineering, and others.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation received an invitation to attend a performance event organised during the summer, and the delegation welcomed the invitation to attend this event.

The Cultural Office delegation consisted of Laila Abu Zekry, supervisor of artistic activity, and Fatima Mohammed, head of the Family Theatre Department.
