The summer activity program consists of five weeks of recreational, educational, religious, sporting, and educational activities, trips, competitions, workshops, and contests; week one focuses on highlighting tourist attractions and museums in the emirate and organizing visits for members. Week two aims to encourage participation in sports and organizing sports programs, and week three focuses on strengthening members' affiliation to love of the homeland and national heritage through workshops. Week four emphasizes the importance of sustainability and investing in the role of sport in introducing it to participants, and week five aims to motivate participants to join volunteer programs and volunteer teams in various events.
Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Trust Club for the Disabled, affirmed that the club's activities, conducted in collaboration with the Sharjah Sports Council, are aligned with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. These activities aim to engage the youth in meaningful pursuits, diverting their focus from the perils of idleness. Furthermore, they seek to foster teamwork, and enhance the intellectual and athletic abilities of the participants. Dr. Khadim emphasized the club's dedication to ensuring that this year's summer activities are not merely for leisure, but instead, purposeful endeavors designed to refine the members' characters, impart valuable skills and experiences, and address their cognitive, physical, and social needs through a robust educational approach. This approach aims to cultivate dynamic personalities capable of assuming responsibility and engaging effectively in social activities, thereby facilitating the integration of club members into society through joint initiatives with their non-disabled peers.
Kaltham Obaid, Vice Chairman of Al Thiqah Club and Director of the club’s girls’ branch, confirmed that the club’s management is constantly working to develop activities, primarily cultural and sports activities, scientific trips, and recreational games, therefore, the activity administration was keen to choose the most efficient trainers to provide our students with sound educational and sports skills that enhance the building and refining of their talents, in addition to instilling the values, customs and traditions of our society in the souls of our children with disabilities.
