Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Centre for Learning Difficulties (SCLD) has announced the fourth edition of the Learning Difficulties Conference, set to take place on October 12 and 13, 2024. The conference, themed "Shared Challenges, Innovative Solutions," will be held in scientific partnership with the Sharjah Education Academy and Princess Tharwat Intermediate University College from Jordan. It coincides with Dyslexia Awareness Week and will feature contributions from an elite group of experts and researchers.
The conference aims to address advancements in diagnosis and evaluation strategies, enhance rehabilitation programmes for specialists, and increase efforts to implement supportive services and programmes at all educational levels.

Increasing awareness and educating specialists
Dr. Hanadi Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Centre for Learning Difficulties, emphasised that the conference is part of the centre’s commitment to raising awareness about common learning difficulties. It seeks to educate teachers, specialists, and parents on the symptoms and impacts of these difficulties, the benefits of early diagnosis, and the latest research findings. The conference will also discuss effective strategies for managing various learning difficulties and developing educational policies and practices to empower individuals with learning difficulties and help them share their experiences.

Invitation to participate
Dr. Hanadi Al Suwaidi invited researchers to submit their scientific contributions and papers for the conference, which serves as an ideal platform for knowledge exchange and enriching discussions. The conference aims to highlight successful strategies for improving skills for those with dyslexia, integrating students, and promoting innovative, sustainable solutions to positively impact individuals with learning difficulties.

Call for research submissions
To ensure the success of the event and facilitate the exchange of local, Arab, and international experiences, the Centre has opened registration for researchers to submit their scientific papers. Interested participants can register through the link on the Centre’s website and its social media platforms (@shjcld). Submitted research should align with the conference themes, support its objectives, and preferably include recent studies not previously presented elsewhere.
