Sharjah24: The Islamic Affairs Department in Sharjah inaugurated the "Imam Ibn Hazm" Mosque in Al Mawrida 7 area in Al Seyouh suburb. The mosque accommodates 1000 male and female worshipers, as part of the department's plan for the current year.
This initiative aligns with the approach followed by the Emirate of Sharjah under the vision and supervision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The aim is to facilitate the access of the emirate's residents to the houses of God, and to facilitate the performance of their rituals with ease, tranquility, and provide a religious atmosphere, comfort, and peace for mosque-goers.
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Ya'arouf Al-Sabousi, the Head of the Islamic Affairs Department, along with the donor who contributed to the construction of the mosque, as well as several officials and residents of the suburb. The attendees performed prayers and listened to a sermon about the virtues of building mosques in Islam, both materially and spiritually.
The attendees toured the mosque and received an explanation from the project's implementers about its facilities, which were constructed in a blend of Islamic architectural style with a modern touch. The mosque features three central circular domes, in addition to 19 smaller domes distributed around the mosque. It is also adorned with two minarets, each 34 meters high. The construction of the mosque adhered to the best modern standards that contribute to environmental preservation, utilizing modern systems to conserve energy and water.
The mosque was built on a total area of 14,394 square meters, including the prayer hall and its supporting facilities such as ablution areas, restrooms, parking spaces, an imam's residence, and a muezzin's residence. The prayer hall accommodates 1000 worshipers, including 65 spots for female worshipers.
His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Ya'arouf Al-Sabousi, the Head of the Islamic Affairs Department in Sharjah, stated that the Imam Ibn Hazm Mosque is an addition to the distinguished mosques and minarets of the bustling Emirate of Sharjah. It serves the residents of all segments, emphasizing the uniqueness of Sharjah in terms of its mosques that are spread throughout its territories. He appreciated the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his diligent follow-up to mosque construction projects in coordination with the department. He affirmed that the Mosques receive utmost attention and personal follow-up, along with generous and unlimited support and the best and most distinguished lands in the emirate allocated for mosque construction.
Al-Sabousi praised the efforts of the people of goodness and benevolence in the emirate and their contributions to the construction and care of mosques, praying to Almighty Allah to reward them with the best rewards for what they have offered.
