The event was presented by media personality Maria Mohhi Al Din, in the presence of Dr. Omar Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, and writers and literature lovers. The poets’ recitation included music performance played by artist, Dr. Muhammad Qastawi, and the calligrapher Khalifa Al Shimi also created two calligraphy paintings for the evening, each carrying two lines of the poets’ poems.
At the beginning of her introduction to the evening, Maria Mohhi Al Din said that the poet Heba Al Feqqi is “the gift of poetry,” as the great critic Dr. Salah Fadl called her. She has won many poetry awards and won sixth place in the Prince of Poets Competition in its eighth session.
Heba Al Feqqi read several poems, in which she moved between homeland, love, and praising the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace.
As for the poet Muhammad Al Azzam, Maria said about him in her introduction that he is “a poet who has won many poetic awards and honours and participates in different Arab poetry festivals. He excels in engineering the poem with visual scenes. Despite his adherence to the originality of the poetic structure, he is liberal in his language and seeks modernity in the details of construction and style.
Muhammad Al Azzam read several poems on contemplation and the philosophy of man and the nation.
