Sharjah24: The Sharjah Youth Basketball Team won the Youth Basketball Cup for the 2023-2024 sports season, marking the sixth time in the club’s history that they have achieved this honor. They secured this victory by defeating the Al Wasl team in the final match with a score of (78-72) on Tuesday evening at the Club.
The match was filled with tension and excitement due to the close technical level and competition between the two teams in this age group. This final was a rematch from earlier in the season when they met in the final of the Youth League competition, which Al Wasl won, leaving Sharjah as the runner-up.

Sharjah and Al Wasl took turns leading throughout the four periods. Sharjah led in the first and fourth quarters with scores of (23-16) and (27-12), while Al Wasl excelled in the second and third quarters with scores of (20-16) and (24-12).

Abdul Latif Al Fardan, Vice President of the Emirates Basketball Federation, awarded the Sharjah team the championship cup and gold medals. The Al Wasl team received silver medals as runners-up. The awarding took place in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, member of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Sports Club and head of the Group Games Department, and Adnan Al-Khayal, member of the Group Games Department and Basketball Supervisor for the Club.

It's important to note that this win is the second for the younger age sector in the 2023-2024 season, following their victory in the league shield last week.

The junior teams of the Sharjah Club have a chance to add more trophies to their collection, as the cubs and junior categories have qualified for the final of the cup competition as well. This final will take place on Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1.
