Five interactive sections for “Hayy ibn Yaqzan” at HoW pavilion

Sharjah 24: Fatima Al-Mahmoud, Director of Cultural Planning at the House of Wisdom, announced the House's involvement in the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival with a focus on showcasing Arabic literature's influence on global cultures.
She said that the House introduces children to the story of " Hayy ibn Yaqzan " by Ibn Tufayl through 5 interactive sections, covering stages from survival to wisdom attainment. 

She told “Sharjah 24” that the pavilion features a mini exhibition displaying rare copies of the novel in Arabic, English, and German, in collaboration with the Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage and the Qatar National Library. 

Al Mahmoud noted that the story of Hayy ibn Yaqzan has inspired numerous works worldwide, including novels like Tarzan, The Jungle Book, Robinson Crusoe, as well as films like Cast Away starring Tom Hanks.
