Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police General Command issued a warning to parents regarding the dangers of hiring unlicensed drivers to transport children to and from schools. This practice poses serious risks to children's safety, as these drivers may not be aware of the safety procedures mandated by authorities.
The warning follows a tragic incident where a child died inside a car in Sharjah. Investigation revealed that a parent had hired an unlicensed female driver to transport their children to school. Upon arrival, everyone exited the vehicle except for a 7-year-old child who was left behind. The driver locked the car and left with her husband, only to discover the child's death upon their return.
In light of this incident, the Sharjah Police urged parents to utilise designated school buses equipped with comprehensive safety measures. These buses undergo continuous monitoring by authorities to ensure children's safety during transportation. Alternatively, parents are encouraged to personally transport their children to school, prioritising their safety and well-being.
