Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police General Command and the Sharjah Police Academy are actively participating in the 15th session of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, themed “Be the Hero of Your Story,” held at the Expo Centre Sharjah. Their involvement includes hosting various events, activities, and awareness workshops aimed at fostering a love for reading among children, enriching their linguistic skills, and enhancing the quality of life in Emirati society.
Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Sharjah Police Academy, highlighted their contribution, focusing on valuable short story publications addressing family and children’s affairs. These publications, including titles like “Beware of the Unknown,” “Our Homes Have Secrets,” and “Takh Takh,” target readers of different age groups, with a special emphasis on children as the foundation of societal progress.
Colonel Mohammed Saeed Al Dhahouri, Head of the Public Relations Department at Sharjah Police, emphasised the annual participation of the Sharjah Police in the festival, aiming to refine children’s skills, nurture their creativity, and provide them with beneficial experiences. The festival offers various interactive activities, including writing stories with artificial intelligence, storytelling through sustainable means, and engaging events like the “Microscope” and “Smart Fingerprint” for analysing information and moods, respectively. Additionally, workshops and educational lectures cover topics such as bullying, patriotism, traffic safety, and emergency preparedness, aiming to raise public awareness among children in their native languages.
