Sharjah 24: “Aman Ya Beladi” programme, prepared by the Department of Media and Public Relations at Sharjah Police General Command (SPGC), reviewed the most prominent efforts and strategies to build a safe and sustainable digital culture.
The programme, which is broadcast live every Monday morning on Sharjah Radio, was hosted by Captain Abdul Rahman Al Mushtagal, Chairman of the Sharjah Police Youth Council, and Lieutenant Nouf Abdul Rahim Al Harmoudi, technical officer in the Technical Crimes Branch of SPGC, and the episode was presented by Captain Manea Al Naqbi.

Captain Abdul Rahman AlMushtaghla spoke about the role of youth and entities in establishing the concept of digital culture, the most effective strategies to raise awareness of digital safety among young people, and how to balance the beneficial use and harmful use of the Internet as a double-edged sword.  Captain Abdul Rahman AlMushtaghla tackled the neglected role of schools and educational institutions in supporting young people to develop their digital skills and address challenges. 

For her part, Lieutenant Nouf Al Harmoudi explained the most important steps and procedures that must be taken to protect the privacy of young people on the Internet, how to confront cyber attacks, such as phishing, and the importance of digital awareness and training on safe practices on the Internet to enhance the digital security of society.

Dr. Noura Nasser Al Karbi, Head of the Department of Community Relations for Scientific Research at the University of Sharjah also enriched the session over a phone call where she addressed aspects of making the most of digital culture in terms of young people’s uses of technology, calling on them to make optimal use of technology and increase digital awareness to achieve sustainable development of society.
