Sharjah24: Dr. Zahia Smail Salhi, Acting Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) at the University of Sharjah, emphasised that the first Sharjah International Conference for the Arabic Language (), organised by the University of Sharjah, will continue over Wednesday and Thursday at the university. The event was organised by the University of Sharjah, and it focused on the theme of “Prospects for Digital Transformation and Sustainability”.
Commenting on this, Dr. Zahia Smail Salhi emphasised the significance of the conference, stating that the conference aims to address the challenges facing the Arabic language globally. 

She further explained that the conference discusses several axes. These included linguistic and literary studies, the challenges faced in the digital age, the importance of preserving the Arabic language, improvements in education, the integration of linguistics with other fields, and the initiatives and goals supported by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.

The conference aims to showcase the significance of the Emirate of Sharjah and the efforts of His Highness the Ruler in promoting the Arabic language, its cultural projects, and its evolving cultural mission. Additionally, the conference will focus on enhancing digital content for Arabic language curricula to meet the demands of digitisation and sustainable development.

The aim is to bring together various fields such as Arabic linguistics, education, psychology, and social studies. It also focuses on planning for the future of the Arabic language, its teaching and learning in the digital age. Additionally, it aims to improve Arabic language and literature departments by updating their curricula and addressing the challenges of the digital world and sustainability. 

The conference also explores ways to preserve and use Arabic in institutions, develops educational In an effort to address the ever-evolving landscape of education, the conference will focus on enhancing training programmes for Arabic language teachers. With globalisation, digitisation, and informatization presenting new challenges, it is crucial to update these programmes accordingly.

The conference delved into strategies for preserving the Arabic language and its institutional use amidst present and upcoming challenges. Furthermore, it focused on creating modern educational materials and curricula to promote the Arabic language and adapt it to the demands of the modern era. Lastly, it discussed the need to update training programmes for Arabic language teachers in response to the challenges posed by globalisation, digitisation, and informatisation.
