Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Media Council, witnessed Sunday evening the conclusion of the Drone Champions Race organised by Al Majaz Amphitheatre in collaboration with the MultiGP, the world's largest drone racing league, on April 20th and 21st.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed attended the final round of the race, featuring participants from France, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi honoured the winners of the top three positions in the race from the United States, South Korea,  and the United Kingdom, congratulating them on their victory and wishing them success. In its inaugural edition, he also took a commemorative photo with all the participants and honoured the sponsors and race partners.

Sixteen exceptional drone racing champions from various places of the globe took part in the innovative Drone Champions Race held at Majaz Amphitheatre in Sharjah. The event was truly remarkable, featuring intense competition among the most skilled pilots from around the globe. After a series of challenging qualifiers, four exceptional contestants were chosen from among 16 contestants to battle it out in the final race on the last day.

The race was divided into two types: one focusing on speed and precision to complete the track as quickly as possible, and another that highlighted freestyle manoeuvres to improve flying skills.

He also explored the different activities and exhibitions at the race, taking a close look at the latest advancements in drones and their wide range of applications, including entertainment, photography, scientific research, and more. He appreciated their ability to blend technology with instinctive speed.

In addition, he was briefed about the activities aimed at improving the racers' abilities and the enjoyable events available to different segments of society and age groups.

The events included a range of activities and entertainment shows for visitors and enthusiasts of drone racing, providing an opportunity for individuals interested in participating to register their private aircraft, in accordance with the UAE's terms and conditions. A specific area will be allocated for them to practice their hobbies

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi was accompanied by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of  Sharjah Digital Office, Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, and a number of officials and enthusiasts.
