Sharjah 24: Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Sharjah Education Academy and Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), launched the community initiative “Rise for the Teacher”, aiming to highlight the efforts of educational personnel being the lifeblood of the educational process.
The initiative, which is one of the most important outcomes of the 3rd edition of the Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education, organised by Sharjah Education Academy in February under the slogan “Pioneering Future Education”, encourages all members of society, whether students, parents, school owners, school administrations, universities, relevant educational bodies and ministries, to support the teacher, each according to their role and specialty, in an influential step that reflects the recognition of the pivotal role that the teacher plays in society and shaping the future of generations.
The “Rise for the Teacher” initiative goes beyond the concept of celebrating teachers as individuals, to include encouraging all segments of society to participate in this process in tangible ways, by investing in providing resources and educational and development opportunities that include professional development programmes, grants to finance educational projects, and the preparation and offering of high-quality academic programmes to qualify students and teacher training, which reflects positively on the quality of the teacher’s life.
The initiative also calls for stimulating partnerships between the public and private sectors to provide integrated benefits that will provide comprehensive care to contribute to enhancing the quality of teacher’s life and developing their innovative skills.
Her Excellency Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi, Chairwoman of SPEA and President of the Sharjah Education Academy, extended thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi for his initiatives supporting education, noting that granting SPEA the responsibility of supervising the implementation of the initiative reflects the harmony between the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and what was stated in the SPEA strategy and plan for the years 2022-2024, which focuses on improving the quality, efficiency and excellence of the private education system in Sharjah, and developing the teaching environment and educational outcomes.
Her Excellency Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi stated that through “Rise for the Teacher” initiative, Sharjah highlights the importance of teachers as a cornerstone in developing minds, celebrating their dedication and commitment to raising future generations. She explained that the general goals of the initiative are to create a supportive environment that makes teachers feel appreciated and respected due to their pivotal role and contribution to the development and prosperity of societies.
Her Excellency Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi concluded that it is necessary to work at all levels to ensure a healthy work environment for teachers inside and outside the classroom and to meet their needs and address their challenges, in a way that enhances the culture of care and respect within the educational sector.
